Job summary

Specsavers Dorking is offering an Optical Assistant Apprentice role in a customer-focused environment. You will begin with on-the-job training alongside a structured learning plan, gaining practical experience while earning a full-time wage.

The apprenticeship lasts 15–18 months, with a strong emphasis on developing clinical and customer service skills in an integrated store team. Eligibility includes UK/EU work rights and Maths GCSE at A*-C.

Qualifications

• Aspiring Optical Assistant Apprentice; friendly, motivated and good listeners.
• GCSE Maths at grade A*-C or equivalent is required.
• EU/UK work eligibility for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers into store and create a positive first impression.
• Book in eye tests and pre-screen patients.
• Provide style advice and help customers choose frames.
• Measure frames and assist with fit and comfort.
• Answer phone calls and assist colleagues as needed.
• Participate in the 15–18 month apprenticeship training.
