Job summary

Vision Express is offering an 18-month Optical Retail Apprenticeship that leads to a Level 3 qualification. You will receive comprehensive training and support while learning to select eyewear, handle fittings, and deliver personalised service.

Guided by the store team, you’ll develop skills in customer care, product knowledge, and practical eye-care assistance. The program expects you to work between 35 and 38.75 hours per week, with opportunities for progression and a strong focus on growth

Qualifications

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Not in full or part-time education.
• GCSEs in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in finding eyewear to suit needs.
• Support frame adjustments, fittings and basic repairs.
• Contribute to pre-screening eye examinations and administrative tasks.

As an Optical Apprentice

You'll assist customers in finding eyewear that suits their needs, handle frame adjustments, repairs, fittings, and even perform pre-screening eye examinations and administrative tasks.

To qualify for our apprenticeship program, you should

• Be at least 16 years old
• Not be engaged in full or part-time education
• Have GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above
• Possess confidence, passion, and enthusiasm
• Demonstrate teamwork and excellent customer service skills
• Be willing to work between 35 and 38.75 hours per week
