Job Title: Optical Assistant

We are seeking an experienced Optical Assistant to join our team at Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists in Thame. The position is full-time, 5 days a week (Monday to Saturday, 9am – 5:30pm).

Role Overview

As an Optical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting them in person or over the phone with a friendly smile. You will listen to their needs, provide solutions, and work closely with the team, including Practice Managers, Optometrists, and Audiologists, to ensure excellent service throughout the client journey.

Key Responsibilities

1. Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
2. Assist customers in selecting suitable optical products.
3. Dispense single focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses.
4. Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
5. Maintain product displays and ensure the store is tidy.
6. Handle administrative tasks such as processing payments and orders.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in dispensing various types of lenses and contact lenses.
• Strong IT skills.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and team members.
• Previous experience in optical retail is preferred.
