Qualifications

• Previous Optical Assistant experience in a practice or shop setting.
• Grounding in dispensing and day‑to‑day optical duties.

• Friendly, reliable and motivated, with willingness to support colleagues.
• Interest in fashion, creative styling or social media would be welcome.

Responsibilities

• Work within a small independent team focused on quality eyecare and individual advice.
• Help patients choose frames and lenses to suit their needs, style and budget.
• Work with distinctive niche and designer eyewear, alongside premium lens options.
• Support dispensing, spectacle collections, fittings and adjustments within your experience.
• Manage appointments, welcome patients and respond to telephone and email enquiries.
• Place orders, liaise with suppliers and keep patients updated.
• Get involved in frame selection and suggest brands that could complement the existing range.
• Opportunity to attend optical trade shows with the team.
• Scope to help create Instagram and Facebook content if you enjoy social media.

Optical Assistant – Marlow – Independent Opticians

Salary: Up to £28,000 DOE, pro rata for part time

Full or Part Time | Alternate Saturdays | Boutique Independent

Zest Optical are recruiting an experienced Optical Assistant for a boutique independent opticians in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

This would suit an Optical Assistant who enjoys building relationships with patients and wants more involvement in the wider practice. Alongside dispensing and patient care, you can contribute to frame selection, meet suppliers and help shape an eyewear collection with plenty of personality.

The practice runs one clinic a day with hour-long eye examinations, allowing the team to offer a thoughtful, personal service.

Optical Assistant – Role

• Work within a small independent team focused on quality eyecare and individual advice
• Help patients choose frames and lenses to suit their needs, style and budget
• Work with distinctive niche and designer eyewear, alongside premium lens options
• Support dispensing, spectacle collections, fittings and adjustments within your experience
• Manage appointments, welcome patients and respond to telephone and email enquiries

• Alternate Saturdays required
• Opening hours of 9am–5.30pm during the week and 9am–4.30pm on Saturdays
• Closed Sundays
• Free on-street parking approximately five minutes’ walk away

Optical Assistant – Requirements
