OPIS, Journalist / Analyst – Recycled Plastics

Employer: United Kingdom (remote) | Full Time | Salary: DoE | Closing date: Apr 15, 2024

Your Role

Reporting into the Journalism Associate Director for Research & Analysis you will be an important member of the OPIS Europe Spots team, engaging with partners in the European recycled plastics sector for price discovery, and to explore trends and opportunities, while producing price assessments, analytics and news for daily publication.

Main Responsibilities

• Partner engagement to identify recycled plastics pricing in Europe.
• Use OPIS pricing methodology to publish daily recycled plastics price assessments.
• Assist in OPIS recycled plastics analysis by gathering and information across multiple industry databases.
• Generate stories for news service and longer, more analytical content focusing on industry trends and related developments.
• Occasional travel, client visits and conference attendance.

About You

• A bachelor's degree in journalism, economics, or related field.
• Networking skills for partner engagement and to identify recycled plastics pricing.
• Good numerical and writing skills.
• Work to deadlines and flexible hours due to publishing of reports.
• Price reporting experience in the petrochemicals or plastics sectors.
• Passion to track and cover the ongoing energy transition.
• Ability to speak another European language or experience of recycled plastics would be helpful but not essential.
