Job summary

NHS Forth Valley is seeking a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse to join the Ophthalmology Service at Falkirk Community Hospital. You will lead and develop the service, delivering specialist ophthalmic nursing care and intravitreal therapy in collaboration with the Senior Charge Nurse and multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have post-registration ophthalmic qualifications or be working towards them, with strong communication skills and a commitment to patient-centred care.

• Post-registration ophthalmic qualification or working towards it.
• Experience in ophthalmic nursing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist ophthalmic nursing care, including intravitreal therapy.
• Support the management and development of team performance with the Senior Charge Nurse.
• Participate in telephone triage and direct patients to appropriate care.
• Contribute to development and delivery of departmental objectives.
• Assist in coordinating staff and patient care within the service.
