Job description
Ophthalmic Technician – Band 3

This role is for a Band 3 Ophthalmic Technician at St Thomas' Hospital and the Minnie Kidd House Community Ophthalmology Clinic. The successful candidate will role‑model the trust values and possess all necessary ophthalmic technician skills.

Key responsibilities:

  • Test visual acuity.
  • Measure intra‑ocular pressure.
  • Conduct visual field testing.
  • Perform optical coherence tomography (OCT).
  • Use ophthalmic equipment such as auto‑refractors and imaging devices (OCT, Optos, Pentacam).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high‑quality ophthalmic service.

The role is full‑time, with varying shifts at St Thomas' Hospital and the Minnie Kidd House Community Clinic.
