Job description
Overview

Ophthalmic Technician position in the Ophthalmology Department at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust. The department treats patients with medical retina, diabetes, macula and glaucoma. You will work in a friendly modern environment performing diagnostic testing that uses various imaging equipment and visual fields on adults, children and complex patients. This includes Fundus Photography, Optical Coherence Tomography and Corneal Topography. Full training will be provided for all testing and the equipment you would need to use, as well as the software programmes used within the trust.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic testing using imaging equipment and visual fields for adults, children and complex patients.
  • Use Fundus Photography, Optical Coherence Tomography and Corneal Topography as part of diagnostic testing.
  • Work across sites within the trust, including Royal Stoke Hospital and County Hospital Stafford, as required.
  • Keep up to date with software programmes used within the trust; full training will be provided.
