Job summary

Optegra Eye Health Care is seeking a Healthcare Technician (Band 3) with ward or theatre experience, ideally in Ophthalmology, to join our private Wetherby Hospital team. This role offers funded training and development opportunities.

You will deliver high quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team, assisting with pre and postoperative care, ophthalmic diagnostics, and clinic operations while maintaining professional communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in healthcare or ophthalmic sector.
• Basic Life Support competence.
• Highly organised with ability to plan ahead.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality patient care throughout the visit.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to run operating lists smoothly.
• Perform diagnostic testing in clinic (Biometry, OCT, A-Scan, Visual fields, Pentacam, VA, IOP, Topography).
• Support patients on surgery days with effective communication.
• Handle enquiries and refer to medical practitioners when needed.
• Provide pre- and postoperative care within competence.
