Job summary

TTEP UK&I Investments Ltd is recruiting an Operations Team Lead for Corby Power Station to provide hands-on leadership to the Operations team, manage daily safe operations, and drive adherence to site procedures and safety rules.

With the site currently non-operational, the role focuses on preparing for future repower options, coordinating maintenance, and acting as Emergency Controller when needed to ensure readiness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in power generation or a similar industry with transferable skills.
• Eligible to be Senior Authorised Person under company safety rules.
• Formal qualification path: technician status via C&G I-III or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Act as Site Team Lead in absence of the Site Team Leader.
• Lead safety rules management and act as Authorisation Officer.
• Coordinate emergency planning and Emergency Controller duties if required.
• Coordinate first line and preventative maintenance by Operations team.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, site procedures and best practices.
• Adapt to changing operational and business requirements.
• Maintain and improve site procedures and competencies per targets.
• Lead the production and maintenance of site procedures.

Description

An opportunity has arisen to recruit an Operations Team Lead at Corby Power Station.

Corby Power Station is not currently operational, however we are currenty looking at future options to repower the site to help fulfil the UK's energy demands.

This role will provide leadership to the Operations team and support the management of the site to ensure flexibility for any future options at the site.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Site Team Leader, the key duties and responsibility will include:

• Acting as the Site Team Lead in their absence.
• Be the site lead for all aspects of Safety Rules Management including Authorisation Officer.
• Enacting the role of Emergency Controller if required when implementing site Emergency Plans.
• Co-ordinating first line and preventative maintenance activities carried out by the Operations team.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, site procedures and best practice standards.
• Work flexibly to meet changing operational and business requirements.
• Maintaining and improving competencies as specified to meet site requirements as specified in personal targets and objectives.
• Leading the production and maintenance of site procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Background

• Demonstrable experience within the power generation industry or another industry with transferrable skills.

Qualifications

• Completed a recognised formal training programme or apprenticeship to achieve technician status (C&G parts I, II &III).
• HNC/D or equivalent in a relevant discipline, and or extensive experience within CCGT Operations.
• Have or be working towards a NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent).
• Demonstrable competence in use of IT/IS skills e.g. MS Office.
