Job description

Ashtead Technology are looking for an Operations Support Manager to oversee and optimise the operational delivery of our Cutting service line. In this role, you’ll ensure teams, resources, and processes operate efficiently, safely, and to high‑quality standards, while supporting business growth and effective service delivery to our customers.

Day to day you’ll be involved in:

• Ensuring all supporting functions (Workshop, Workshop Resources, Field Resources, Asset Management, Procurement & Supply Chain) run smoothly & efficiently for the service line and in line with business goals.
• Working closely with the Project Delivery Manager to ensure all resources (People, Equipment and Spares) are available on schedule to the highest standard of readiness assurance for mobilisation to a customer project.
• Proactively supporting all aspects of the sales activity of the business in the pursuit of new customer awards and growth of live customer projects.
• Developing resource capability and competency of our people through a progressive capability and competency development programme.
• Working closely with the Asset Manager to ensure equipment, fleet, and tooling are effectively tracked, maintained, and fully utilised in line with operational objectives.
• Collaborating with the Workshop Manager to align workshop output, resourcing, and scheduling with supply chain and business requirements.
• Collaborating with the resource planner to ensure field resources efficiently managed.
• In partnership with the group Supply Chain function, optimise the supply chain for the service line, including logistics, inventory control, and materials flow from suppliers through to project delivery.
• Implementing process improvements to reduce waste, streamline workflows, and enhance performance across departments.
• Developing and monitoring KPIs and performance metrics for operational areas.
• Collaborating closely with project, finance, and leadership teams to align operational strategies with business objectives.
• Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Promoting Ashtead core values of Excellence, Collaboration and Agility in all aspects of team engagement and personal behaviours.
