Position: Operations Supervisor – Collectibles

Location: Ruislip, Middlesex, UK

Reports To: Manager, eBay

Employment Type: Full‑time (Contracted Position through an Employer of Record)

Compensation: £42,000 per annum. Actual compensation varies based on a variety of non‑discriminatory factors including location, job level, experience and skill set. The role may be eligible for bonuses, commissions or other forms of compensation – please ask your recruiter for details.

Role Overview

The Operations Supervisor is a leadership role responsible for managing staff and ensuring all team members are properly trained and working at the highest capacity. The core purpose is to build and lead a high‑performing authentication team that consistently delivers accurate authentication results while creating an environment where team members develop their expertise and take pride in getting it right for every collector.

The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive industry knowledge of trading cards (sports and TCG), be an expert in collectors authentication and grading standards, and will add experience and depth to our authentication team through both their expertise in the content and their training and leadership skills.

In this role you will champion Collector Obsession by ensuring every item receives the attention and accuracy it deserves, understanding that our customers trust us with their most prized possessions.

Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise staffing, training and scheduling of department personnel, embodying our value of Bringing Out the Best in Everyone.
  • Monitor staff productivity and assign tasks as needed to optimise efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 2 years of professional experience in a similar role in collectibles grading or authentication, fragile item mail processing or shipping, or as an art or antiques valuer, handler or technician (or related role).
  • 2 years in a managerial/supervisory role including hiring, scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance and recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions or terminations.
  • 2 years managing third‑party client relationships or working in a customer/client‑facing role.
  • Bachelor’s degree (Hons) in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices and procedures within trading cards, tickets, artwork and other forms of sports and non‑sports collectibles.
  • Ability to travel to other sites (minimal to occasional).
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including the ability to understand and relay company policies/procedures.
  • Data‑driven problem solver with an understanding of general business implications of decisions.
  • Strong project management and planning/organisational skills; ability to develop and execute realistic action plans.

Working Conditions
