Hewett Recruitment is assisting Heathrow-based manufacturing client to recruit an experienced Operations / Production Manager. You will own the site operations, lead production and office teams, and drive performance improvements while ensuring safety and quality.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to manage from order to delivery in a bespoke manufacturing environment.

Operations / Production Manager

Heathrow, London

£40 - £50k depending on experience + benefits

Are you an experienced Production, Operations or Site Manager looking for an opportunity to take full ownership of a manufacturing operation?

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, for a hands-on Operations / Production Manager to lead a well-established manufacturing and assembly facility based in Heathrow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an operationally and commercially focused leader to oversee the complete site operation, drive performance improvements, and develop a motivated team within a bespoke manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a busy manufacturing site, leading a team across production, sales administration, finance and shop-floor operations.

This is a varied role where you will oversee the entire process from customer order through to production, dispatch and delivery, ensuring high standards of quality, safety and customer service are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a multi-functional team, creating a positive and accountable workplace culture.
• Managing production planning and scheduling to ensure customer demands and delivery targets are achieved.
• Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, health & safety and operational compliance.
• Overseeing stock control, purchasing and inventory management.
• Monitoring site performance through KPIs and implementing improvements where required.
• Managing budgets, costs and profitability, producing accurate operational and financial reports.
• Working closely with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and excellent service levels.
• Supporting commercial decision-making through product and account profitability analysis.

To be successful, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Site Manager or similar leadership role.
• Proven experience managing manufacturing or operational processes from order intake through to delivery.
• Experience leading both shop-floor teams and office-based support functions.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, lead time management, stock control and purchasing.
• Experience within bespoke manufacturing, assembly, joinery, furniture, interiors, fit-out (or similar environments)
• Commercial awareness, including budgets, costs, invoicing and profit and loss management.
• A practical, hands-on management style with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and maintaining high health & safety standards.
