Job Description

Operations Manager – Opportunity for a seasoned Operations Manager who will bring innovation and strong leadership skills to continually improve the manufacturing operations in one of our most critical plants. Under the guidance of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for effective management and coordination of all production operations associated with the facility as well as providing general technical and process support.

Responsibilities
  • Model the personal and organizational leadership needed to deliver an effective safety process, cultivating an effective safety culture and ensuring safe work performance of multiple production lines
  • Ensure the effective performance of production and maintenance operations, including safety, quality, delivery and cost
  • Promote continuous improvement by developing and maintaining systems utilizing tools such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Track plant and department performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement actions to improve performance
  • Effectively manage and develop salaried and hourly personnel
  • Promote a positive work environment through strong leadership, employee relations, and conflict resolution skills
  • Prepare and manage both annual production line budgets; assist in managing the plant budget and capital improvement projects
  • Support product development and continuous improvement projects
  • Participate as a member of plant leadership teams, including the Safety Leadership Team and Lean Steering Committee
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manages operational support team which includes production supervisors, process engineer
Travel
  • Occasional travel for conferences, vendor meetings or similar activities may be required
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent field
  • Minimum of 10 years manufacturing experience in a durable goods industry, with at least 5 years in a management role
  • Successful track record of achieving plant operational goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and implementation of process improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma
  • Experience driving and supporting innovative manufacturing systems
  • Experience supporting and implementing organization development and human resources initiatives
  • Business knowledge of budget, asset and cost structure management
  • Must be able to complete the Ishihara test for color blindness and the Farnsworth-Munsell 100-hue color test
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Lean Certification
  • SAP experience
