Role

Operations Manager – Residential Childcare

Location

Remote based with occasional travel for 1:1s and team meetings

Salary

£40,000 – £45,000 (DOE) plus performance‑based bonuses

About the role

As an Operations Manager you will inspire, motivate and energise your remote team to deliver an outstanding learning experience to every learner, every time. You will use data, Power BI reporting and clear forecasting to drive operational excellence, exceed growth targets and ensure smooth daily operations, keeping the learner journey at the heart of everything you do.

Key responsibilities
  • Accountability for all aspects of line management and leadership of a remote‑based team.
  • Recruit, train, develop and retain peak‑performing colleagues.
  • Drive regional targets against budget and support ambitious growth plans.
  • Develop and share best practice across the team and wider business.
  • Ensure consistent and effective delivery to learners.
  • Conduct regular forecasting – starts, QAR, leavers, out‑of‑funded learners and headcount requirements.
  • Coach, mentor and develop your team through regular meetings and one‑on‑ones.
  • Adhere to GDPR, internal information and data security policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Successful record of leading and developing a high‑performing team in a remote learning environment.
  • Experience taking accountability for your own and your team’s results.
  • Experience driving commercial partnerships to grow business.
  • Ability to deliver on deadlines, objectives and targets.
  • Strong data‑driven decision‑making skills.
  • Experience working in the Residential Childcare sector is desirable.
  • Commercially aware with strong sales and business development skills.
  • Well‑developed interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to travel for in‑person 1:1s and meetings.
