Job description

Job Title: Operations Manager

Location: Production Site in Exhall, Coventry

Salary: Up to £60,000 - £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience

Job type: Full time, Permanent

Responsibilities
  • Leading day-to-day operations across production, warehousing, baking, and packing lines.
  • Responsibility for site Health and Safety.
  • Managing budgets and labour for all operational cost centres.
  • Leading on maintenance and engineering projects with the engineering team.
  • Project manage cap ex projects as directed by the directors and general manager.
  • Manage production scheduling to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and certification requirements (HACCP, BRCGS).
  • Work with the quality team across product ranges, identifying and resolving issues quickly.
  • Work with the leadership team on strategic objectives, capacity planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and develop bakery staff, creating a high-performing, motivated team culture.
  • Promote safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised production area.
  • Support onboarding of new products with NPD and commercial teams.
  • Setting, communicating, and reporting on projects, targets and production targets and KPI's. This may include presentations.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the food manufacturing and bakery industry in a similar role.
  • Health and Safety qualifications and experience.
  • Proven experience of project management with engineering bias.
  • Working knowledge of food standards including BRCGS.
  • Knowledge and experience of HR processes - Disciplinary Processes, Appraisals etc.
  • Excellent presentation skills and time management.
  • Excellent IT skills.
  • Team player (senior team and wider business team).
  • Full clean UK Driving License.
