Job description

A prestigious family office is seeking an operations manager to join its team based in offices in Central London. The family office invests its capital with a long‑term time horizon in ETFs, funds, including private equity and venture capital funds, and makes co‑investments alongside these funds. It has a focused approach to philanthropy, giving grants to organisations and projects that align with its principles.

The operations manager role will suit someone who has worked in fund administration, or in an operations role in another family office, private equity or other fund environment. The role requires someone with an analytical mind, an ability to solve problems, and an interest in developing their investment analysis skills. The role entails the oversight of operational, administrative and reporting functions across the family office’s portfolios, ensuring accurate execution, compliance, and coordination among administrators, custodians, accountants and trustees.

Key responsibilities include:

Portfolio Oversight
  • Monitor multiple investment portfolios ensuring accurate recording of holdings, transactions and valuations;
  • Reconciliations
  • Collaboration with in‑house investment analysts to build and maintain Excel‑based models of private equity portfolios;
  • Cash management including rollover of Treasury bills;
  • Preparation of Investment Advisory Committee reports;
  • Liaise with administrators and custodians on operational and compliance matters.
Trades and Private Equity Monitoring
  • Monitor execution of public market trades, private equity capital calls/distributions and fund subscriptions;
  • Assist accountants and auditors in reconciling PE valuations and performance metrics.
Tax Liaison
  • Assist in compiling and organising US and UK tax information for the principal and children, ensuring tax advisors receive the required information;
  • Maintain tax document archives.

Compensation will be competitive. Benefits include private healthcare, 5% matched private pension contribution, and 25 days annual leave. The role will be office‑based Monday‑Thursday with WFH Fridays.
