The Operations Manager is integral to the organisation. It is a keysenior role that will support the organisation in driving delivery andtransformation enabling the organisation to progress and expand. They willprovide managerial and leadership support to the Director of Operations.

Suitable candidates will have demonstrable and successful experience ata senior level, in a similar complex organisation or system, ideally within anNHS organisation. As an experienced manager, with operational experience, youwill have a recent track record of outstanding leadership in operationalmanagement and be confident in providing visible operational leadership,management support, guidance and supervision to direct reports.

About us

Wigan GP Alliance is a well-established Primary Care provider within theBorough of Wigan and Leigh, established in 2015 to respond to the PrimeMinisters Challenge Fund. The Alliance has grown to deliver its core services andextended its delivery to provide many more services and additional support forthe whole Borough, reacting when required to in time of need eg Covid-19response.

Job responsibilities

Managing the operational business dayto day ensuring the Alliance is delivering the elements of support to ourPrimary Care Networks and Practices in the borough in line with theorganisations deliverables. The post holder will be committed to undertake anyother duties commensurate with the role, within their own competence.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a management role with a good standard of general education.
• NHS Experience
• Recognised leadership / management qualifications / programme of study or equivalent.

Experience

• Experience of operational management; service strategy; business planning; performance management; demonstrable leadership ability at a senior level.
• Experience of working in primary or secondary care Recent managerial experience in related organisation

IT Skills

• Excellent IT skills with proficient knowledge and experience of MS packages. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc
• DBS check will be carried out

Clinical IT system experience

• Working knowledge and experience of clinical IT systems preferably SystmOne
