Location: Oxford Ice Rink

Job type: Permanent/Full time

Working Hours: 40 hours per week to cover a mixture of early, late & weekend shifts

Salary: £31,000 + Excellent benefits

To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team - and right now we are looking to recruit for an Operations Manager to join our centre.

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation of work and the allocation of tasks in support of the General Manager, responsible for the tracking of work progress, stock management, and ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance plans meet the needs of both the operational demands of the establishment as well as the contractual requirements set by the customer.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising and managing staff: This includes scheduling, training, performance management, and potentially hiring/firing decisions.
  • Maintaining ice surface and equipment: Ensuring the ice is in optimal condition for skating and managing repairs or maintenance of related equipment.
  • Facility management: Overseeing the overall upkeep and maintenance of the ice rink facility, including public areas, changing rooms, and other amenities.
  • Customer service: Addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive experience for rink users.
  • Safety and compliance: Implementing and enforcing safety protocols, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Inventory and supply management: Monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, and managing related expenses.
  • Financial management: Assisting with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Strategic planning and operational improvements: Working with the General Manager to implement new initiatives, improve efficiency, and achieve operational goals.
  • Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, operational performance, and other relevant data.
What you'll need to do the role
  • You will have previous experience as an Operations Manager or similar within leisure, with the ability to implement the strategy devised by the OxfordSenior Management team underpinning good decisions, that maximize its effectiveness.
  • Proven experience using a range of influencing processes to build commitment to changes required for long-term outcomes. Identifying, building, and maintaining mutually beneficial long-term relationships internally & externally to deliver business success.
  • Ability to simplify complex situations and data and spot the underlying key issues.
