Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Greater Manchester is seeking an Operations Manager to lead an on-site operations team. You will be responsible for the daily delivery of the production plan and targets, driving safety, quality, cost, performance and team morale across the department.

You will oversee continuous improvement initiatives, ensure process compliance, conduct root cause analyses, and implement KHMS pillars while managing production supervisors and budgetary performance to deliver a high quality

Responsibilities

• Leads continuous improvement of the department on all KPI’s
• Ensure compliance with all processes within the department (e.g. operational meetings, SOC reviews, SOP/OPL)
• Leads root cause analysis to eradicate problems
• Leads implementation of KHMS pillars within the department
• Delivers leader standard work to grow and improve the department
• Supervises production activities and employee placement/training/development to cost effectively produce a high quality finished product
• Coordinates activities within assigned area of the plant, including managing multiple Production Supervisors
• Accounts for all financial, safety, quality, and regulatory matters in the assigned area
• Ensures food preparation and packaging comply with GMP and Food Safety regulations
• Manages operations to achieve daily efficiencies in line with established standards
• Manages department budget in line with productivity targets
• Prepares departmental costs and variances related to productivity, planning, scheduling, materials, and housekeeping

Key Responsibilities

• Leads the continuous improvement of the department on all KPI’s

• Leads the implementation of KHMS pillars within the department
• Delivery of leader standard work with focus on how we grow / improve the department
• Assists with the supervision of the planning, organizing and directing of production activities and employee placement/training/development to cost effectively produce a high quality finished product
• Responsible for coordinating all activities within assigned area of the plant, including manage multiple Production Supervisors
• Accountable for all financial, safety, quality, and regulatory matters in assigned area of the plant
• Ensures all food preparation and packaging is compliant to the guidelines of Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety regulations
• Manages operations to achieve daily efficiencies in keeping with established standards
• Manage budget of assigned department in accordance with annual productivity improvement targets
• Prepares departmental costs and variances with regard to productivity, short and long-range planning, labour scheduling, product scheduling, raw materials, packaging supplies, product weights, sanitation and housekeeping
