Job summary

Introduction Saab UK is seeking an Operations Manager for its BlueBear operations in Bedfordshire. The role focuses on governance, compliance, trials and business coordination to continuously improve BlueBear operations within Saab UK.

The successful candidate will drive process standardisation, manage risk and compliance across export control, health & safety and security, and develop KPIs to support the Strategic Business Plan.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience implementing effective organisational change.
• Proven experience managing risks and applying risk management policies including business continuity.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001 compliance.
• ISO 27001 desirable.
• Awareness of UK export control, health & safety and environmental management.
• Experience in defence industry and UK MOD desirable.
• National Security Vetting clearance required to SC level or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement across the organisation to achieve high standards.
• Be the focal point for process standardisation and compliance with the quality management system.
• Be the focal point to Saab UK functions for critical compliance areas including export control, health & safety and security.
• Develop and track KPIs to support the delivery of the organisation's Strategic Business Plan.
• Implement processes for capturing customer feedback, communicate success and track change where required.
• Communicate Operational Excellence throughout the organisation.
• Coordinate all internal and external audits.
• Act as Risk and Opportunity Co-ordinator and lead business continuity management activities.
• Coordinate compliance activity such as export control, ensuring sufficient resources and processes.
• Coordinate the implementation of new compliance standards and business support tools.
• Capture and track internal feedback on processes to drive continuous improvements.
• Deliver internal training on continuous improvement / operational excellence.
• Champion information management within BlueBear.
• Support internal project activity and manage the Facility Coordinator's activities.
