The Operations Manager will provide operational leadership to ensure the effective and sustainable delivery of BWE’s mission. This role involves leadership of all business functions including Business Plan delivery, staff and volunteer management, financial planning, health and safety, stakeholder engagement. The Operations Manager will play a key role in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and productive environment for our team members, who are adults with learning disabilities.

Person Specification
Essential
  • Proven experience in a leadership or senior management role.
  • Proven experience of effective staff coordination, programme planning and contracts delivery.
  • Strong operational and people management skills.
  • Commitment to inclusion and experience working with people with support needs.
  • Sound financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Health and safety, safeguarding and compliance certification at management level.
Desirable
  • Understanding of social enterprise or voluntary sector organisations
  • Knowledge of grant funding and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with marketing and business development in a social enterprise context.
  • Experience in environmental or land-based services (e.g., forestry, landscaping).
