A leading global freight forwarding organisation is seeking an Operations Manager to lead and develop its Air & Ocean Freight operations in Northern Ireland. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role, suited to someone who enjoys being close to the operation, supporting experienced teams, and driving service excellence for key clients.

The Opportunity

You’ll take responsibility for the day‑to‑day performance of a well‑established Air & Ocean operation, overseeing experienced teams and ensuring service levels, productivity targets, and client SLAs are consistently achieved.

While prior experience across both air and ocean freight is highly desirable, applications are welcomed from strong leaders with deep experience in one core mode and the appetite to broaden their exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop Air & Ocean Freight teams to deliver against operational and commercial objectives
• Own operational performance, KPIs, SLAs, and service delivery standards
• Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, and cost control
• Act as a senior point of contact for key customers, building trusted, long‑term relationships
• Support training, development, and succession planning within the team
• Work closely with senior leadership to improve operational efficiency and customer outcomes
• Remain hands‑on when required, supporting complex or time‑critical shipments

• Proven background in Air and/or Ocean Freight operations within a forwarding environment
• Experience leading or supervising operational teams
• Strong understanding of KPIs, SLAs, and customer service delivery
• Commercial awareness and confidence engaging with customers
