Job summary

Morgan Stanley's 12-month Operations Off Cycle Internship Programme in Glasgow sits within the Operations Division, collaborating with Sales & Trading, Finance, Legal and Technology to support the firm's daily transactions and drive automation, resilience and process improvements.

Throughout the internship you will receive induction, product and industry training, soft skills development, teambuilding activities, and networking sessions across teams.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student on track for a 2.2 honours degree or equivalent.
• Excellent leadership, inter-personal, and strong verbal and written communications skills.
• Attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills; able to understand complex information quickly.
• Curiosity, adaptability, and a desire to continuously learn and embrace change.
• Team player with a client-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Trade Support & Reconciliation – learn processes from deal capture to final settlement and resolve breaks.
• Evaluate existing processes to simplify workflows, reduce manual activity, and improve controls.
• Data Analysis & Reporting – use data to generate insights and challenge assumptions.
• Projects & Systems Testing – participate in projects and test systems to mitigate risk and develop tech relationships.
• Team Collaboration – work with team members at all levels, share knowledge and ideas.
• Build relationships across functions to influence change and deliver improvements, and share market knowledge.
• Client Relationship Development – understand stakeholders' priorities and protect client confidentiality.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement – identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve client experience.
• Present recommendations and contribute to change initiatives.
