Job summary

ABP UK is offering a Graduate Operations Management programme designed to develop future operational leaders in a fast-paced meat manufacturing environment. From day one you’ll contribute to the operational running of the business, taking on meaningful responsibilities and gaining experience across procurement, processing and supply chain.

Qualifications

• We’re looking for graduates who have studied an Agriculture, Food Science, Business or Management-related degree and are eager to build a career within operations management.
• Hold a 2:2 degree classification or above

Responsibilities

• Gain exposure to the core processes that underpin the meat industry and develop leadership, commercial and problem-solving skills.
• Take on assignments across procurement, processing, manufacturing and supply chain to build operational experience.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to cost management and efficiency projects.

Opportunity Overview

From day one, you'll play an active role in the operational running of the business, taking on meaningful responsibilities and gaining first-hand experience across key areas of the operation. You'll have the opportunity to support commercial projects, identify process improvements, investigate waste management opportunities and help drive operational efficiencies, all while developing the leadership, commercial and problem-solving skills needed for a successful management career.

Throughout the programme, you'll gain exposure to the core processes that underpin the meat industry, building a strong understanding of procurement, primary processing, retail manufacturing, the impact of freezing processes and the day-to-day running of a large-scale operation. You'll also have opportunities to take responsibility for teams, allowing you to develop your management style, build confidence in decision-making and enhance your ability to lead others effectively.

As you progress into your second year, you'll continue your professional development through increased exposure to costing, business strategy, commercial development and people management. You'll also complete learning modules focused on sustainability and supply chain management, equipping you with the knowledge and experience needed to make a lasting impact on the business and accelerate your career progression.

Preferred Skills & Experience

We're looking for graduates who have studied an Agriculture, Food Science, Business or Management-related degree and are eager to build a career within operations management.

You will ideally:

• Hold a 2:2 degree classification or above
• Be enthusiastic, motivated and committed to continuous learning
• Be numerate, analytical and comfortable working with data and complex information
• Have strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
• Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, resilience and pride in delivering high-quality work
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
