Job summary

Jobtailor in Cardiff seeks an Operations FP&A professional to support the Head of FP&A and Operations across all aspects of operational planning and analysis.

You will partner with site teams, support costing, standard cost revisions, and capital expenditure analysis, while delivering KPI dashboards and insightful financial reports to aid decision making.

Responsibilities

• Support FP&A and Head of Operations in operational FP&A functions.
• Partner with operational teams to review financial performance and provide recommendations.
• Assist with standard costing, including cost revisions and absorption methodology.
• Provide management with KPI reports and visual data representations.
• Support Capex proposals with ROI, NPV and payback modelling.
• Contribute to NPI planning through modelling and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement by standardising tasks and processes.

Job description

• Support the Head of FP&A, Operations in all aspects of operations related Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A).
• Key business partnering for operational teams.
• Support Group product costing including twice yearly standard cost revisions, understanding cost absorption methodology as the best fit for each manufacturing operation.
• Provide quality financial reports to operations management across sites to aid in decision making.
• Support a Group project to implement an operations finance module into the Cardiff and Comber sites including manufacturing works orders and WIP management.
• Produce & support relevant business metrics (KPIs) to add visual representations of operations data to include labour productivity, material scrap rates, operations cost per unit and cost per hour, alongside other production & delivery metrics.
• Monthly variance analysis to standard cost, enabling operation managers to understand and interpret data to facilitate continuous improvement (CI).
• Produce and support Capital Expenditure (Capex) proposals through quality analysis including return on investment, net present value and payback modelling.
• Support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process through scenario planning, modelling, analysis and reporting.
• Challenge ways of working, to standardise common tasks and be a champion of CI within the function.

Requirements

• Hold a recognised accountancy qualification (or part qualified) such as; CIMA, ACCA, ACA etc.
• Operations finance experience
• Strong data analytics capability, with the ability to translate metrics into clear, meaningful insights
• Up to date knowledge of current costing/management accounting practices through CPD
• Demonstrable experience of partnering with operations stakeholders to review financial performance, challenge assumptions and provide clear, practical recommendations based on financial analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to manipulate, analyse and present financial and operational data accurately and effectively
• Highly organised and detail-focused, with the ability to manage priorities efficiently and deliver accurate work within agreed timescales
• Proven ability to review, improve and embed effective financial processes, compliance requirements and internal controls
