Salary: £200 a day
Hours required- approx: 2 days per week rising to 3 at busy times
Based from home:you will be self employed

SHiP is the voice of supported housing; a membership organisationthat represents the supported housing sector, including Registered SocialLandlords and Supported Housing providers. We are seeking a supportedhousing professional with an excellent knowledge of housing policy, legislationand contractual relationships, as well as the organisational skills to run eventsand deliver SHiP’s wide-ranging workload. The role requires someone with agood knowledge of supported housing and the sector in which it operates.

The role is wide and varied and you need the ability to liaise with a range ofaudiences at policy and strategic level as well as regular liaison withmembers. A key part of this role is representing members’ interests; you will beinstrumental in increasing SHiP’s influence across a range of policy areas, andyou will lead on formulating our position on issues affecting the sector.

Your role will include guiding the Management Committee, ensuring adherenceto good governance. You will also coordinate and service member meetings,providing a welcoming and supportive service to members.

SHiP holds a conference each year. You will lead on its planning and delivery,including liaising with speakers on session content and delivery as well asattending the event. Your involvement will be key to ensuring the success ofthis event.

The role also incorporates the administrative functions at SHiP such acoordinating meetings, minutes, website etc.

This is a part time role, and you will be self-employed. You will be required towork approximately 2 days per week on average. This role requires a degree offlexibility and the willingness to fit around the SHiP diary.

There is an admin element to his role which at this stage is being treated as acombined role, therefore the salary reflects this hybrid role of part Policy andpart admin functions.

The role is largely home-based, but with a requirement to attend externalmeetings as required. For example, at least one of each of SHiP’s quarterlymeetings, training, the Conference and any special events, including planningmeetings for the latter 2.
