Operations Director – Prospectus Theatre

Prospectus is delighted to partner with a historic theatre in the heart of Oxfordshire to recruit an Operations Director. The theatre produces world‑class theatre for thousands of audience members each year and offers creative learning opportunities for all ages and communities. As it launches its vision and strategy for the next five years, the theatre is looking to hire an Operations Director to lead day‑to‑day operations and work on an exciting capital project.

Responsibilities
  • Lead effective day‑to‑day operations of the organisation's buildings and systems.
  • Support team members through strong HR practices and leadership.
  • Oversee health & safety, facilities management, contracts, and capital projects.
  • Ensure the theatre remains safe, accessible, and welcoming for all.
  • Play a vital role in shaping long‑term organisational strategy, with emphasis on environmental sustainability, equality, diversity & inclusion (EDI), heritage conservation, access, and workforce professional development.
Qualifications
  • Proven senior management experience in operations, with exposure to buildings/facilities management and HR.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practice and risk management.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to environmental sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion.
