Operations Data Quality, Process and Controls Manager

Department: Underwriting Operations

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: London

Description

The purpose of the Operations Data Quality, Process and Controls Manager role is to ensure the integrity, accuracy and consistency of operational data and reporting across Operations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining robust processes and controls that support high standards of data quality, enabling effective decision-making and regulatory compliance. The role also plays a key part in driving process improvements, fostering collaboration between Operations and Underwriting, and championing a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

Specific Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and monitor data quality frameworks within operations to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of operational data.
  • Establish and maintain robust processes and controls to mitigate data quality risks and support regulatory compliance.
  • Design and oversee regular data quality assessments, audits, and reconciliations, ensuring timely identification and resolution of discrepancies.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to define and document data quality standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Lead root cause analysis of data quality issues and coordinate the implementation of corrective actions and training requirements.
  • Drive process improvements by reviewing existing operational workflows and recommending enhancements to optimise data integrity and efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to team members to promote data quality awareness and adherence to established processes.
  • Produce regular reports and dashboards highlighting data quality metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Be aware of the continuous improvement ethos specific to operational efficiencies and consistencies, suggest solutions and facilitate implementation.
  • Act as liaison between Operations and Underwriting where required.
  • Be an advocate for change.
Essential Skills & Requirements
  • Sound experience in a London Market Operations role, ideally covering both Company and Syndicate environments.
  • Experience in utilising outsourcing and third‑party vendors.
  • Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to accuracy.
  • Experience with Policy Administration systems, preferably Eclipse.
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to execute and deliver projects.
