Operations Controller | Out of Hours | Permanent

Salary: £26,231.83 plus bank holidays

Location: Letchworth

Hours: Saturday & Sunday shifts between 07:00 and 20:00, including all bank holidays

We are seeking a dedicated Operations Controller to join our Out of Hours team to manage courier resources, ensure adherence to SLAs and safety standards, and support the Senior Controller in creating a KPI-driven environment.

Main responsibilities include:

• Managing bookings and resource allocation according to SLAs and network rules
• Communicating courteously with couriers and customers
• Resolving queries effectively
• Optimizing courier resources across the network
• Supporting courier onboarding and compliance
• Monitoring courier performance and addressing issues
• Maintaining paperwork and systems accurately
• Supporting site safety and housekeeping

Ideal candidate qualities:

• Ability to reprioritize tasks in a dynamic environment
• Understanding of business patterns and peak period planning
• Experience in operations or customer service
• Familiarity with systems like CityTrak and X-Despatch
• Basic Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of KPIs and how to influence them positively
• Strong customer orientation and relationship-building skills

The successful candidate will undergo a DBS check. Conditional offers are subject to clearance.
