Job summary

Arcus FM is seeking an Operations Support Contract Analyst to join our Brentwood team. The role focuses on protecting profitability through insightful analysis, robust reporting, and commercially focused recommendations that support strategic decision‑making.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Operations, Finance and Supply Chain to identify opportunities, mitigate risk, and drive continuous improvement across business processes to improve revenue recovery and reduce expenditure.

Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial analysis, business analysis, or performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills to interrogate, interpret, and communicate complex data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, lookups, data modelling, and complex formulae.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of profitability, revenue, and cost‑control principles.
  • Experience producing clear and meaningful reports, dashboards, and management information.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing workloads.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

  • Produce reporting and analysis at varying frequencies, including ad hoc requests, to support operational and commercial decision‑making.
  • Analyse large volumes of data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities where changes to processes, behaviours, or controls will improve revenue, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic insight and recommendations to support revenue protection, cost control, and contract performance.
  • Support cost recovery and revenue assurance activities by identifying missed revenue opportunities and assisting with their recovery.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting tools, and performance metrics to improve business visibility and decision‑making.
  • Communicate with stakeholders involved in contract delivery to ensure financial and commercial processes are understood and consistently applied.
  • Create supporting documentation, process maps, guidance notes, and reference materials to improve understanding and compliance.
  • Produce transactional spend reporting, including analysis of spend trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce billing and performance reporting to support accurate client invoicing and revenue recovery processes.
  • Monitor financial and operational KPIs, providing commentary and recommendations where required.
  • Support department leaders in identifying opportunities to improve data quality, purchase order accuracy, and commercial governance processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of operationally sound and commercially aware processes across the business.
  • Review and assess implemented changes to determine their effectiveness and identify further improvement opportunities.
  • Monitor and validate spend activity, ensuring agreed approval and governance processes are followed.
  • Support governance activities through the maintenance of trackers, action logs, reporting packs, and management information.
  • Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, and commercial risks, and support corrective action plans.
  • Represent the department during the mobilisation of new contracts and agreements as part of the mobilisation team.
  • Work proactively with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve issues and prevent escalation.
  • Support the department in achieving internal KPIs, objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Create and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to requests and instructions while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.
  • Support training and knowledge‑sharing activities across the business where required.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and actively contribute to the delivery of company and departmental objectives.
  • Undertake ad hoc duties in line with business requirements.
  • Represent the business in a professional manner at all times.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an Operations Support Contract Analyst to join our team, based at our Brentwood site.

The primary purpose of this role is to support the commercial and operational performance of the contract by providing insightful analysis, robust reporting, and commercially focused recommendations that protect profitability and support strategic decision-making.

Working closely with the Commercial, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams, you will play a key role in identifying commercial opportunities, mitigating financial risks, improving governance, and driving continuous improvement across a range of business processes.

A key focus of the position will be to protect business profitability, improve revenue recovery, identify operational and commercial efficiencies, and reduce unnecessary expenditure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate, high-quality reports, analysis, and recommendations for both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring information is delivered in a timely and professional manner to support operational and commercial decision-making.

  • Experience of process mapping software, such as Microsoft Visio.
  • Knowledge of commercial governance, revenue assurance, cost recovery, or billing processes.
  • Experience supporting operational change and continuous improvement initiatives.

When you join us, you’ll receive:

  • Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum, depending on experience
