About The Role (External)

In this role, you will lead the development, refinement, and ongoing management of competence assessment frameworks within Network Operations, ensuring they support operational excellence and regulatory compliance. You will also oversee the coordination and delivery of the Safety Briefing process, working with key stakeholders to produce engaging and relevant core briefing content that promotes a strong safety culture and keeps teams informed of critical updates. About The team.. Our team plays a role in supporting operational excellence and safety across Network Operations. We are responsible for developing, refining, and maintaining the function’s competence assessment arrangements, ensuring they remain relevant, effective, and aligned with national standards. We manage the ongoing development of assessment modules, coordinate training activities, and lead the delivery of the safety briefing process, including the creation of core briefing content. What does the average day look like? You’ll be developing and updating assessment frameworks and training modules, coordinating with teams to ensure effective delivery and alignment with national standards. A key part of your role involves managing the safety briefing process—overseeing the creation of core content and ensuring timely distribution. You’ll also lead quality sampling initiatives to assess the consistency of briefings and assessments, embedding improvements based on findings. Regular collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers ensures the tools supporting these processes are fit for purpose, while your analytical skills will be put to use preparing insightful reports for senior and frontline managers, helping to drive continuous improvement across the function.

You’ll be skilled at building effective relationships across all levels of the organisation, with the ability to influence and collaborate to drive improvements. A solid grasp of risk tools and techniques is essential, along with excellent IT skills to support data analysis, reporting, and the use of systems that underpin our competence and safety processes.
