Job summary

Qualifications

• 6-10 years’ experience in physical risk management.
• Experience supporting front office risk and trading desks.
• Familiarity with risk controls across physical and financial trading activities.

Responsibilities

• Assess new products and initiatives against the group risk framework.
• Support front office with physical and financial risk controls across warehousing, bunkering, transport and deal structuring.
• Conduct RCSAs and report on existing and new controls.
• Provide KRIs, thematic reviews and assurance findings to management.

Our client are a World leading commodity trading, financing and market intelligence group, operating across energy, metals and agriculture.

In line with sustained business growth throughout 2026, they are now looking to appoint a 2nd line operational risk manager to help oversee frameworks and controls across their financial and physical trading activity. Working closely with group level counterparts, you will be expected to build relationships with front office risk and trading counterparts, specifically base metals, precious metals, energy (gas, crude oil) and agriculture (oilseeds, cereals, softs, biofuel) desks.

This role will offer excellent variety in terms of tasks as well as a rewarding professional challenge.

Responsibilities

• Assessing new products and business initiatives in line with the group risk framework
• Supporting front office counterparts with physical and financial risk controls. This could include commodity management such as warehousing/ bunkering, transportation and deal structuring on the physical side, as well as exchange rules, on-boarding, 3rd party risk and regulatory compliance for financial trades.
• Conducting RCSAs and reporting on existing and new controls
• Providing KRIs, thematic reviews and assurance findings to management
