Job summary

Jobtailor in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Operational Risk professional to support RCSAs, control assessments and risk governance. You will partner with operations to translate risk concepts into practical actions and help drive resilience across projects and initiatives.

You will lead investigations of risk events, produce dashboards for senior leaders, and foster a positive risk culture while aligning with regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in operational risk, first line risk, controls or governance roles in regulated environments.
• Hands-on experience facilitating RCSA activities and risk assessments.
• Ability to articulate risk impacts to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Provide practical, commercial risk advice with appropriate challenge and oversight.
• Experience supporting projects or change initiatives from a risk perspective.

Responsibilities

• Support business projects and change initiatives by identifying potential risks and control impacts early
• Act as a trusted risk partner to operational teams, translating risk concepts into practical actions
• Oversee investigation and resolution of operational risk events and incidents, including root cause analysis and lessons learned
• Produce risk reporting, dashboards and management information for senior leaders and governance forums
• Build relationships across the business to drive accountability, challenge thinking and embed a positive risk culture
• Support operational resilience, business continuity and risk improvement initiatives
• Work with Second Line Risk teams to align with regulatory expectations and risk frameworks

Requirements

• Proven experience in operational risk, first line risk, controls or governance roles, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment
• Hands-on experience facilitating RCSA activities
• Ability to identify, assess and articulate risk impacts to a broad range of stakeholders
• Ability to provide practical, commercial risk advice while maintaining appropriate challenge and oversight
• Experience supporting projects or business change initiatives from a risk perspective
• Analytical skills to interpret risk data, identify themes and present insights clearly
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Exposure to incident management, risk event reviews and root cause analysis
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Must be commutable to either the Basingstoke or Dorking offices
