We are currently recruiting for a Waste Treatment Performance Manager to manage Beckton Sludge Stream operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in one of our most critical roles within Waste Treatment as a front-line performance manager.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and long-term strategy of this critical site through the effective leadership and direction of resources.

What you’ll be doing as an Operational Performance Manager:

• You are responsible for the performance management and leadership of your team by company policies, ensuring the competence of individuals through coaching and training to maximise their potential.
• Health and safety are at the centre of everything we do, and as such, you will be responsible for implementing this with your site and team.
• You are responsible for identifying, mitigating, resolving and escalating risk across the site and team.
• You will need to deliver a consistent approach to asset operation and maintenance to deliver a cost-efficient, robust and safe operation 24/7.
• Understand and articulate changes within the budget at regular performance review sessions. Ensuring the budget is managed effectively regarding H&S, compliance, people and performance.
• You have responsibility for delivering a safe service to the customer base in your area, by driving a culture of continuous improvement and best practice within the team.
• You will be responsible for the site's generation and managing Beckton STW as a Strategic Sludge import centre with the THP Process.

Base Location: North London – Beckton (IG110AD)

Working Pattern or Hours: Monday-Friday, 36 hours per week.

What should you bring to the role?

To thrive in this role, the essential criteria you’ll need are:

• A valid driving licence is required to travel to different sites.
• A degree or equivalent in Engineering, Science or a similar field.
• Excellent organisational and risk management skills are also needed.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal are essential for the role.
• Strong computer skills are also desirable.
• You will need excellent people and performance management skills to support and drive a team with a mix of skills and abilities.
• A strong health and safety and customer-based ethics.

Additional skills and experiences would be great to have/bring:

• Previous experience managing environmental compliance or permits is highly desirable.
• We are looking for a proven manager, ideally someone who has process or operational management experience with strong skills in environmental, engineering, finance, H&S and stakeholder engagement.
