Salary : £33,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our highly skilled clinical team.

The Role

As an Operating Department Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in delivering safe, efficient, and high‑quality perioperative care across all surgical procedures. Working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists, and nursing colleagues, you will ensure the best possible experience for every patient — from admission to recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating theatres, equipment, and instruments for a range of surgical and aesthetic procedures.
  • Assist the anaesthetist during the anaesthetic phase and support patients before, during, and after surgery.
  • Maintain the sterile field and provide skilled assistance during surgical procedures.
  • Monitor and manage patient recovery in the post‑anaesthetic care unit (PACU).
  • Ensure adherence to infection control, health and safety, and clinical governance standards.
  • Work collaboratively within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver seamless patient care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide compassionate and professional care that reflects our commitment to excellence and discretion.
About You

Essential Requirements
  • HCPC‑registered Operating Department Practitioner (or NMC‑registered Nurse with relevant theatre experience).
  • Proven experience in surgical or perioperative care (cosmetic surgery experience advantageous).
  • Excellent knowledge of theatre standards, infection control, and patient safety procedures.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional, discreet, and empathetic manner with patients.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a close‑knit multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
  • Experience in private healthcare or cosmetic / aesthetic surgery settings.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
  • Flexibility to assist across anaesthetics, scrub, and recovery as needed.
