Job summary

Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) invites applications for a Research Data Steward to join the Open Science theme. You will support the PSDI data infrastructure, collaborating with project teams and university partners to develop data resources, guidance, and services enabling FAIR data practices and open sharing for physical sciences research.

In this role you will work with stakeholders across PSDI to embed best practices in data management, metadata standards, and data

Qualifications

• Experience with research data management practices and tools including repositories and catalogues.
• Knowledge of FAIR principles and translating them into practice.
• Ability to work collaboratively both in-person and remotely.
• Experience with technical and scientific metadata and relevant standards.
• Track record delivering project outputs.
• Familiarity with the aims of Open Science.
• Degree or equivalent in information science, computer science, physical sciences or related field or relevant work experience.

Responsibilities

• Encourage and embed best practice data management, metadata standards, FAIR principles, and Open Science values.
• Liaise with PSDI stakeholders to ensure data communities meet needs and demonstrate best practices.
• Develop and maintain technical and domain specialisms to support PSDI data communities.
• Onboard new data communities and manage relationships.
• Participate in community forums to share best practices and standards.
