Job summary

CVS Veterinary Group is seeking an OOH Veterinary Surgeon for our Middlesbrough 24/7 service, offering a varied emergency caseload and supportive team.

This role involves consults, surgeries and hospitalised patients, with a 7-on-14-off rota (7pm-8am) and one in six weekend days. The successful candidate will lead, mentor and develop others while delivering high clinical standards.

Qualifications

• Qualified veterinary surgeon with authorization to practise in the UK.
• Experience in emergency and critical care is preferred.
• Comfort with mentoring and leading clinical teams.
• Ability to manage varied emergency cases and plan patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care during OOH shifts.
• Perform consultations, surgeries and hospital care as part of the MiNightVet team.
• Lead and support junior colleagues and veterinary nurses.
• Collaborate with CVS network for case discussions and knowledge sharing.

We are seeking a Vet with an interest in Emergency caseload, at our dedicated out of hours service in Middlesbrough. This is an annualised hours contract.

Rota: 7 nights on 14 nights off 7pm - 8am. 1 in 6 weekend days 8am - 7pm.

Our established MiNightvet service further complements our fantastic day team within our Bridge Veterinary Group, which is located in Middlesbrough. Our OOH Vets are supported by a OOH Nurse throughout the working shift.

As a veterinary hospital we see a varied caried caseload with advanced emergency cases to routine work. We strive to work to high clinical standards and prioritise great patient and client care. Our team pride themselves on great team moral and genuinely support each other in and out of work. The role will be varied across consults, surgeries and hospitalised patients, but offer opportunity to develop in any one of these areas.
