Avantor is looking for a science-savvy and flexible Biobank Liaison Scientist to join our team based in Cambridge, UK . In this position, you'll assist in the acquisition and utilisation of human biological samples (HBS), ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and contributing to the development of research initiatives. You'll also support histology-related tasks such as sectioning and staining, and help maintain laboratory areas.
Your time will be divided between computer-based tasks (70% of your time) and laboratory work (30% of your time).
This role will be a full-time, temporary (12 months) position based in a brand-new facility at the customer site - The Discovery Centre, Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge. Working hours: Monday - Friday, Flexible hours
You’ll join a close-knit team of five Biobank Scientists. The team is processing, registering, and re-labelling incoming human tissue samples and making sure they are available for Scientists. You’ll belong to our business department, Lab and Production Services, which supports leading pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.
A Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline, or equivalent experience, is preferred
