Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a SEND English Tutor for a well-established secondary provision in Solihull. This full-time, onsite role involves one-to-one tutoring for pupils aged 11-16 with SEND or additional needs, aiming to build confidence in reading, writing and communication. GCSE English support may be included where appropriate.

The role offers a competitive daily rate (£140-£200) and a temp-to-perm contract in a nurturing, relationship-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Specialist background in English or equivalent tutoring experience.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND and diverse needs.
• Ability to tailor lessons to individual learning goals and GCSE readiness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging one-to-one English lessons tailored to each pupil's needs and ability.
• Support literacy, reading, writing and GCSE English Language and Literature preparation where appropriate.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils who may have had difficult experiences of education.
• Track progress and share updates with the school team.
• Follow the school's behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing policies.
