Job summary

Systems Engineering and Assessment Limited (SEA) is seeking a Production Engineering Technician for our Barnstaple site. The role covers production engineering activities across units, including documenting processes, introducing new equipment and tooling, and driving quality and cost improvements.

The job requires onsite presence 4–5 days a week, with a salary up to £32k depending on experience. The successful candidate will support triage of quality problems, design jigs, maintain tooling

Qualifications

• Production engineering activities across units and tooling.
• Ability to read and interpret designs and technical drawings.
• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities as needed.
• On-site presence at Barnstaple site, 4–5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support production, engineering and wider business in triaging quality problems.
• Attend GEMBA meetings as appropriate.
• Design and introduce jigs and fixtures to enhance production processes.
• Maintain calibration of production tooling.
• Generate and maintain standard operating instructions and doc.
• Engage in layout changes to increase capacity and efficiency.
• Develop methods for material and product movement through the facility.
• Conduct time studies; identify waste and simplify processes.
• Identify and support process improvements to reduce costs.
• Participate in verification and validation activities for equipment and processes.
• Support prototyping across new product introductions.
• Develop and support visual controls on the shop floor.
