Job summary

Land & Sea Resources are seeking an experienced Mechanical Technician for an onshore role in Barrow-in-Furness. The position involves maintenance, commissioning and decommissioning activities within a major energy operation on a two-year contract.

The ideal candidate has offshore/oil & gas experience, robust engineering knowledge and a strong commitment to safety, with PAYE employment and a daily rate of £286.36.

Qualifications

• Several years of mechanical experience in offshore oil & gas / E&P environments.
• Experience with petrochemical process operations or maintenance.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Familiarity with hazard and safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and non-routine mechanical maintenance and defect repair.
• Investigate technical problems and identify solutions.
• Support safe return of plant to service and maintain records.
• Carry out commissioning and decommissioning activities per plan.
• Assist design and commissioning of plant modifications and improvements.
• Supervise contractors and ensure safe, efficient work.
• Ensure permits and safe-working practices are in place.
