Job summary

Sainsbury's is seeking an Online Assistant to support online customers by picking and preparing orders, offering substitutions when needed, and ensuring timely delivery to customers’ doors. You’ll use a handheld device to navigate the store, handle customer queries, and assist with loading delivery vans.

Shifts start early and you’ll work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining store cleanliness and following safety procedures while delivering excellent service to customers.

• Ability to move shopping containers up to 15 kg.
• Right to work in the UK and eligibility to work full-time shifts.

Responsibilities

• Picking and selecting quality products for online orders and substitutions when stock is low.
• Using a handheld device to plan routes and manage tasks within the store.
• Processing online orders, handling customer queries, and loading vans for delivery.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy work area and following health and safety procedures.
• Providing great service and product recommendations to customers.

Job description

What you’ll be doing:

• Picking and selecting the best quality products on the shop floor that online customers have ordered ready for it to be delivered to their doorsteps – or providing brilliant substitutions where products are out of stock
• Using a handset that plans your route around the store, what you need to select and how long you have to complete each shop
• Working behind the scenes dealing with customer queries, processing orders and helping to load the vans for our Home Delivery Drivers
• Always ready to serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions, and proactively offering help
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
• Marshalling totes and preparing them for delivery.
• Loading delivery vans safely and accurately.
• Completing cleaning duties within the Online room.
• Keeping the work area clean, tidy and organised.
• Following all health and safety procedures.
• Completing putbacks of items back on the shopfloor
• Working flexibly across the store as required

Eligibility:

• You must be above the school-leaver age in your country School leaving age - GOV.UK
• If the shifts for this role cover hours earlier than 6am or later than 11pm, you will need to be at least 18 years of age.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
