Job summary

Sainsbury’s Cobham is seeking an Online Assistant to pick and prepare online orders for home delivery, including substitutes when items are out of stock. You’ll use a handheld device to route efficiently and respond to customer queries with friendly support.

You’ll build knowledge of products and promotions to offer helpful recommendations, and you’ll work flexibly across the store to meet demand. A fast-paced, physical role with early starts and strong teamwork is expected.

Qualifications

• You must be above the school-leaver age in your country.
• If shifts cover hours earlier than 6am or later than 11pm, you will need to be at least 18 years of age.
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Picking and selecting best quality products for online orders and substitutions when out of stock.
• Plan routes and manage time using store handsets.
• Handle customer queries, process orders and help load vans for Home Delivery Drivers.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist with questions and product knowledge.
• Build strong knowledge of products, services and promotions to make recommendations.
• Work flexibly across the store as required.

Job description

What you’ll be doing:

• Picking and selecting the best quality products on the shop floor that online customers have ordered ready for it to be delivered to their doorsteps – or providing brilliant substitutions where products are out of stock
• Using a handset that plans your route around the store, what you need to select and how long you have to complete each shop
• Working behind the scenes dealing with customer queries, processing orders and helping to load the vans for our Home Delivery Drivers
• Always ready to serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions, and proactively offering help
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
• Working flexibly across the store as required
