Job summary

City of Wolverhampton Council is seeking an enthusiastic One Wolves Employment Co-ordinator to drive the development and delivery of the One Wolves Family Employment Model in Wolverhampton.

The post holder will design, coordinate and embed the programme across the city, establishing a Skills Academy to support care leavers with employability and success. DBS check required; interview presentation will be part of the process.

One Wolves Employment Co-ordinator

Salary - £36,363 - £40,777 (Grade 6)

Hours - 37

Contract type - 1 Full time, Fixed Term until 31 August 2027

City of Wolverhampton Council is committed to ensuring that children in care and care leavers achieve their full potential. As part of our Corporate Parenting commitment, we are launching an exciting new initiative, the One Wolves Family Employment Model which is designed to create meaningful employment opportunities and support care leavers to achieve positive and sustainable futures.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, innovative and highly motivated One Wolves EmploymentCo-ordinator to lead the development and delivery of this ambitious programme. The postholder will take the lead in designing, coordinating and embedding the One Wolves Family Employment Model across Wolverhampton and setting up a Skills Academy where young people can be supported with their employability skills and nurtured to succeed.

We are seeking someone who:

  • Understands the challenges and barriers faced by care-experienced young people.
  • Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged young people.
  • Has experience of developing employment, training, skills or workforce initiatives.
  • Has excellent partnership building and stakeholder engagement skills.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of care-experienced young people while shaping a pioneering employment model in Wolverhampton.

This post will required an Enhanced All Disclosure and Barring Service check.

NJC Pay Award for 2026 / 2027:

The annual pay increases for 2026/27 for NJC Local Government Employees are currently being negotiated and, once agreed, will be effective from 1 April 2026.

Our working arrangements

All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
