Job summary

St Botolph's Church of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School is seeking a dedicated Classroom Assistant to support a child with an EHCP and assist the teacher in delivering lessons.

The role covers one-to-one learning and wellbeing support, helping with activities, preparing materials, and monitoring progress, with feedback to staff.

You will attend CPD and work with external agencies to promote the child’s health, safety and best possible outcomes.

Qualifications

• Classroom assistant duties and responsibilities as described by the school.
• Experience supporting a child with an EHCP/SEND is advantageous.
• Ability to work under the direction of teaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Classroom assistance as directed by the Teacher.
• Provide direct one to one learning and wellbeing support for a child with an EHCP (SEND).
• Work with the child on activities as specified by teaching staff and using initiative.
• Prepare classroom materials specific to the individual child.
• Monitor and regularly feedback on the child's learning and wellbeing.
• Set out equipment as required and put away after use.
• Undertake non-teaching tasks to assist the child during lessons as directed.
• Assist the pupil with toileting and personal hygiene as necessary.
• Attend CPD and work closely with external agencies.
• Take a lead role in promoting and protecting the health, safety and wellbeing of the child.
• Liaise closely with other staff members and stakeholders in promoting and delivering the best possible provision and outcomes for the child.

• c)prepare classroom materials specific to the individual child.
