Job summary

Keys Children is seeking SEND-focused tutors in Newcastle to provide one-to-one support to young learners who cannot access mainstream education. You will work flexibly across homes, community venues and other suitable settings, delivering tailored sessions and reports.

Qualifications include QTS and UK curriculum experience. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are required, with safeguarding checks and a patient, adaptable approach to help learners re-engage with learning.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience delivering UK curriculum and supporting young people through teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or similar educational roles is required.
• Understanding of SEND including ASD and ADHD is required.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored one-to-one sessions in English, Maths, life skills and other agreed areas of learning.
• Plan and adapt lessons based on the individual needs, interests and abilities of each learner.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement and progress.
• Travel across the local area to deliver sessions and support learners; complete session reports and progress updates.
