Job summary

Nexus Multi Academy Trust is seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support pupils with severe or profound and multiple learning disabilities at Fountaindale School. The role involves one-to-one support within the class team, assisting with personal care and promoting wellbeing.

The post requires DBS with barred list checks and a compassionate, flexible, and motivated approach to assist pupils in accessing learning and achieving positive outcomes across the school’s specialised environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Personal Care Assistant in mainstream or specialist education setting, or exceptional vocational skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Responding to pupils' emotional, social and mental health needs
• Providing pupils with aspirations for their futures
• Enhanced DBS check with barred list

Responsibilities

• Support a pupil one-to-one as part of the class team
• Support the physical and emotional wellbeing of pupils
• Meet individual needs, including personal care and hygiene such as toileting and changing
• Ensure the safety of children and young people
• Facilitate pupils' access to learning
• Respond to pupils' emotional, social and mental health needs
• Contribute to judgements on pupils' attainment and progress and help them celebrate success
• Help pupils build aspirations for their futures and promote a positive culture
