Job summary

Continuity of Care Services is seeking a compassionate Complex Healthcare Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a sociable young man in his twenties living with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. The role involves home and community care to help him live an active, independent life.

You will shadow initially, then work with the client to build trust and independence. A valid UK driving licence to operate a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle is essential, and some hospital visits may be required.

Qualifications

• Previous care experience is essential.
• Full UK driving licence to drive a WAV is essential.
• Caring, patient and understanding approach to complex care needs.
• Commitment to promoting independence and delivering person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support at home and in the community for a young man with cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
• Accompany the client to college on designated days and assist with activities of daily living.
• Support hospital appointments when required and maintain high infection control standards.
• Drive and operate a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle as part of community access and social activities.
