Job summary

Tesco PLC is hiring for a Buying/Category role based at our Walsall Head Office. The successful candidate will support the Buying Manager to deliver category sales, profit and growth, analysing data, planning, supplier collaboration and product launches.

This role is hybrid: three days per week at Walsall and two days from home. You will build supplier relationships, support negotiations and manage selected category areas from planning to delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support category administration, including product setup, promotional activity, supplier claims and EPOS reporting.
• Analyse sales and performance data to identify opportunities for growth.
• Support delivery of sales, margin and profit targets.
• Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
• Support supplier negotiations and joint business planning.
• Help deliver range reviews and category changes on time and in full.
• Independently manage selected category areas from planning through to delivery.
• Monitor competitor activity, pricing and market trends.
• Support stock and working capital objectives.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and the wider Tesco Group to deliver business initiatives and product launches.

Support the Buying Manager to deliver category sales, profit and growth. Working with suppliers and colleagues across One Stop and the Tesco Group, you'll help manage category performance, deliver great products for our customers, and support business objectives through analysis, planning and supplier collaboration.

Please note: This is a hybrid working role. The successful candidate will be required to work from our Walsall, Head Office three days per week, with the remaining two days working from home.
